We finished decorating inside the house last week- We have really enjoyed having it up and decorated so early so that we can enjoy it longer this year. Jason thinks that he put about 1500 lights on our tree this year. He is so stinkin good at it... but he tells me it is a sacrifice of love. Gotta love him!
Hannah helped me put up the snowbaby table in the entry... and Jason hung the stockings with care along with my "Snowmen melt my Heart" sign. Jason was really engaged in helping me decorate this year, it was fun for me.

One of my favorite decorations to put out each year is my nativity scene... and my mom gave me this little frame ... it touches my heart!

So... this weekend the task was lights on my house!!!! Yahoo! This is our third Christmas here in this house, I said it was time... I wanted lights on the house. Now, mind you, it has been a battle between who was the boss here, the kids or the adults. The kids just about had a revolt when mom decided on white lights! They desperately wanted multi-colored lights with tons of blow up things in the yard. Sorry. Not at my house- God bless everyone else who has them, we drive around and look at them, but I am not spending my Christmas fund on blow up toys, and I LOVE white lights. So... here you have it. Jason and I working our hearts out. There was an INTENSE moment when we did the highest peak of our house. Let's just say I did a LOT of crying out to Jesus. Yikes.

Final project... all lit up. The front door is wrapped in greens, a wreath, and lights and the front of the house is lined in white lights. My kind of pretty. Simple.

So, today.... Family Day with the Festival of Trees... thank you to all of you ladies who put it together. It was FUN. Zeke got his moment with Santa! I spent several hours at home today wrapping gifts. I can't believe how ready I am. Oh, and Christmas cards are on their way. No letter this year. It was my one thing that I crossed off the list in an attempt to simplify.
One short little story to end this mega long post. Friday I got a call from our babysitter to tell me something that had happened. It went (something) like this,
Judy (holding Zeke on her lap) "Zeke, what do you want from Santa for Christmas"
Zeke, "My daddy is Santa"
Judy, "Santa is real, he just lives in your heart"
Zeke, "No, Santa doesn't live in my heart, Jesus does!"
Now, mind you, Zeke is FULLY intrigued with Santa, and was DYING to see him today. Christmas is just precious through the eyes of children!
Hope you are all finding time to enjoy!
Michelle

And such a sweet story about Zeke & Santa. Smart boy.
Thanks for sharing your sweet, precious happenings with us...you totally warmed my heart...and your little man does know Jesus so well...each day during our Bible Story he always tells me.."Jesus is God!"...It always makes me smile! May you enjoy every moment of this season...and way to go on simplifying! Sweet blessings!
P.S. I LOVED your new banner too!!!
Oh, I love what Zeke said to Santa! Precious :)
Your house looks beautiful....inside and out!
It's funny, because I've had to tell my kids the last few year, "NO, we are not buying blow-up figures for our yard. Sorry guys." I share your point of view completely.
Your tree is breathtaking and your nativity scence is my favorite of all.
I too, am completely ready for Christmas WAY ahead of schedule. A first for me. It does feel so good. I've come to realize something about myself, the busier my schedule, the wiser I manage my time.
