Remember how I mentioned a strong hit to the brakes? Well... it didn't last so long.
This week was definitely needed... cause it sure filled up with plenty to "do." I had a lot of homework including observations of counselors at work. Thankfully our neighboring Washington Schools were still in session this week, so I did some work in their school systems. I also continued to have college classes this week.
The kids still had their normal extra-curricular activities this week as well. Jason and I did a lot of juggling the running to and from practices. It was definitely nice to not have the normal push of life on top of the "extras."
We had a hijacking of the week with dental issues. I won't even go into the details of it all... just a brief overview... Hannah saw a general dentist here in town 32 days ago.... on Sunday I saw that she had a decaying tooth... seriously decaying tooth. I called and was able to get her in on Wed. to see a Pediatric Dentist, and they found that she had 13 cavities. OK... before you pass judgement... I have to say she is a GREAT brusher! I feel like a horrible mother with this whole dental history of my kids. Anyhow... today she just had dental "surgery" under general anesthesia to do one root canal and 12 fillings. She was so excited to get a "cap" like Judah... they even said she went to sleep with a smile on her face. Waking up was not so good, though. She has really really struggled to keep even water down without vomiting. Long story to say... not so sure I trust regular dentists with kids anymore... seriously! 32 days.
So... after all my rambling... I am sitting here on Friday night facing Monday. So much to do. I still haven't done any spring cleaning. I hope to get some meals prepped and clean my blinds/windows.
One thing I have done.... necessary homework and spent time with my kids. AND I actually sat on the couch and read a magazine yesterday (I think the world may have paused for a moment). :-) Seriously... I am learning to slow down and enjoy some life. I am trying to embrace fun. Somewhere along the line in my adulthood/mommyhood I lost my love of fun and laughter and replaced it with a survival work ethic that is on overdrive.
Random today. Oh well. One side note... I have learned so much about play therapy this week, and I am dying to try it out!!!
Second side note... I miss blogging. This has felt good to "talk" today.

Glad to have you back blogging.
13 cavaties...poor girl. Im a little curious on how a dentist would have missed that many cavaties. Did they not ex-ray her?
I remember someone saying that tooth decay is contagious. So if one person in your family has it the others will likely too no matter how well they brush.
Okay now I am rambling...
Do not feel like a horrible mother we were there too. taking Whit soon! I hope all gets better with Hannah. Hope you take the time ro take breaks more often you deserve it friend. Love you Nicole

Poor Hannah! Dont worry... i've had friends with 13 cavities before as well! So- i'm pretty sure we used to go to the same dentist- i stopped trusting him two years ago and now go to Hayden Dental and LOVE the doctor too death. No more anxiety over dentist office for me!
I'm glad they have pediatric dentitst now days- it probably couldve saved me 7 years of braces and 8 teeth pulled!
