This is our dining room... and our dining set that is nearing it's last day. We began with six chairs and two bar stools, and are now down to five chairs and no bar stools. I mark that up to lots of good use. :-)
During dinner hour at our house we "play a game" called High/Low. The kids love it and beg for it, in fact if we miss a night they feel deprived. :-) Over dinner we take turns sharing the High moment and the Low moment of our day. It has been a great tradition and keeps us connected in our busy busy lives.
To more good food... great conversation... and deep relationships.... CHEERS!

I couldn't agree more!! :) And I love the high back mission style chairs.
Thanks for participating.

5 seems to be the perfect amount!:)
love it... Kirsten, Tiff, Sonja, Neely and I used to do that when we all lived in the "big blue house" that is no longer blue!
What a GREAT family tradition you've started!!
I, too, think that eating together is imperative to healthy family relationships. At our house we play "two truths"...each person has to tell three things about their day, only two of which really happened...we have to guess which one is not correct! The kids love it!!!
Table still looks nice! I so agree about the relationships forming over food. Awesome post!
Come on by and check out my Family Table if you'd like!
What a great idea- great way to get the kids to talking. I'll have to remember that!

We also play high / low at dinner.
Lately it seems like the times we have been sitting together at the table and eating dinner have been few and far between. We are ALWAYS WAY better about it during the school year. We all miss it when we don't sit together at dinner and talk about our days. I think the 2 truths sounds SO FUN, I will have to try that one.
Hi Katie P! So fun to see you on here... keep visiting and posting. :-) Talk soon.

So great! Darrin is very big on eating together. We usually do that in the winter. :)
I love your chairs. I love those straight lines.
I have to remember to play a game or two in between cutting meat and fetching seconds.
So good! I always insist on everyone eating together at the table... even if it's just me and jacob!
We were talking the other day... we miss hanging out with you and Jason. :o)
Love the High/Low Game. Thinking we're going to start doing that.
Thanks for the idea!
Hey Michelle!
Well, we are down to one dining room chair and three folding chairs. I think it might be time for a new set! =)
I love your family tradition. I'm going to have to try that when the kids are a little older!
