I am ALIVE!

I have begun to breathe... school has now been out a few days. I am drinking coffee at my table each morning with my husband, not rushing away to ANYWHERE! It is fabulous!

The last few weeks have been jam packed with springtime activity, they boys went camping on Memorial Day weekend, and the girls stayed home and had a 'girly' time. Jason's mowing business has kept him hopping as we juggled our way through graduation weekend, and my weekend college classes this semester. We have had to create 'fun' babysitting situations the last few weeks on Saturdays. The only way to not feel guilty when leaving Friday night and all day Saturday is to find a sitter who the kids love more than you anyhow (just kidding- kinda!). I owe a huge thanks to those people! It is awesome to have good friends and family who love your kids unconditionally!!!

Jason's grandmother has not been well recently, which has added a bit of stress to the family this last week. She had open heart surgery to replace her aorta on Wed, and there has been some roller coaster moments as we have moved along. Seems as though things have stabilized.

We are looking forward to a active, yet family focused summer. This weekend is my last class for the summer! Yahoo! Next weekend we have a conference we go to every year, and it is always a good time to leave kids home and retreat with friends. The following weekend is my sister's wedding. We are really looking forward to the week away with family. The kids and I will be vacationing for a few days and Jason will be joining us just for the weekend of the wedding. He is actually the minister for the wedding. :) We are blessed that they asked him. Three years ago, he married his sister and her husband. So far, he has married two of our four siblings off. Two more to go?!?! Maybe.

July looks much more mellow. We will spend 4th of July with Jason's family at the Lake in Joseph. We love it there! It's were this all begin... literally on the 4th of July. Lot's of memories rush back... like... "when is this CRAZY Jesus loving man gonna KISS ME?!?!" :) (side note.... six weeks of 'seeing' one another before he finally kissed me!)

Time to play catch up! Well... the to-do list has grown quite long as we waited for summer. Today I get to start by cleaning bathrooms and tile floors! yahoo! This summer I am hoping to:
  • paint inside my house (I am addicted)
  • have coffee with a list of neglected friends
  • finish my homework for next week
  • do my long overdue FAFSA for fall semester
  • celebrate two of my kids birthdays
  • build a fort/play structure for my kids
  • build a fence
  • start a deck
  • start a water feature
  • clean the garage (ohhh... it's bad right now!)
  • make some plans for next fall at work
  • attend a conference for professional women (pretty excited about this!)
  • play with my kids a lot!
  • go to OMSI
  • go to the Zoo
  • eat ice cream
  • BBQ
  • enjoy watermelon season
  • picnic in the park
  • swim
  • read a couple of 'fun' books (NOT a textbook!)
  • go on vacation with Jason (alone!)
  • celebrate 10 years of marriage

Seriously?!?! I probably need to readjust my thinking on this list. Seems a bit large, when I see it written down. So... we will see.

I will do my best to post more frequently this summer! Blessings!!

So your list sounds like so much fun!! Sounds summery but as i write this i'm looking outside and it does NOT seem like summer. :o(
And #1- i really want a water feature, #2- I cringed when you talked about painting your house.
I can't paint anymore... probably for the rest of my life after this house!!! :o)

Love this post. I feel like you were just painting your house.

And I had to laugh at the kissing info. Im pretty sure I was kissing Mike before I knew his first name. (he used to just go by snyder). Yeah...not very proud of this fact ;).

Glad you will be able to have some family time. Kissing comment totally cracks me up (and so does Shannon's comment) Maybe we can do coffee before we head out!

I don't feel neglected, but I seriously want to do coffee with you. You'll have to ask me about the day I destroyed Starbuck's bathroom! LOL Great list of summer ideas! Have fun!

People...I have an announcement. I now have a blog. Can you believe it? I wanted to announce it on Michelle's comments because she's the reason I challenged myself into this. Thanks Michelle. This has been and will be fun.
