My Fairy

About two weeks ago there was an evening that I walked into my house exhausted and looked around at the mess that had been slowly building from day in day out busyness. With exhaustion and frustration, I asked Jason, "Isn't there a cleaning fairy that comes to my house while I am away?" It was my nice way of not screaming profanity at the top of my lungs followed by a moment of sobbing in a puddle. (drama, I do it well.)

Anyhow, last Sunday my cleaning fairy showed up! This week my daycare provider was in Maui for the week, so I needed a sitter for the week. My mom came and filled in as not only daycare provider but laundry doer... kid chauffeur... dishes doer... meal preparer... entertainment... and late night friend. This week could have been horrible (Jason had conferences... I had a week of DRAMA at work that would have caused a LOT of stress on managing my kids... and I would have been doing it alone this week). Anyhow, I am thrilled to say it is Saturday morning and I am gearing up for an incredibly long and fulfilling day (next paragraph), but my laundry/dishes/toilet scrubbing is all finished.

I have been experiencing build-up emotions about today since October. Today is our Sparrow Clubs Benefit Dinner. I have a 4th grade student from my school, who is the son of a staff member, who was diagnosed with AML Leukemia in October, and has spent nearly every moment at Doernbeckers Children's Hospital since. The most fabulous news came in last night! He just received news that the bone marrow transplant has been successful- he is currently in remission!!! So, today's benefit dinner has a much lighter feel for me. Good news for all!

Thank You, Grandma for coming!!!!!

Would love to have a cleaning fairy right now! I think that picture of Zeke holding G'ma's hand is one to blow up and frame! Nice shot!
