Where Passion and Music Meet
Worship... it is what I do at my core. I love it. I breath it. Music has always played in my heart. I remember being so young and loving music, and it clicked when I met God. I had no skills as a young adult... and stumbled my way through learning the guitar. I am far from "good", but I love love love when I have a quiet moment with only a guitar and silence. Tonight I had some moments like that. There is nothing quite like it for me. Tomorrow I lead worship in my church for the last time on my "purple" guitar. I am actually feeling a little emotional... I feel my heart warm over as I write this. It is a bitter sweet thing, really. There is a precious young lady in our church who has been borrowing a guitar to learn, and she is taking my guitar home tomorrow as her own. She is beside herself excited. I am too, on one hand. That is the sweet piece of this. Tomorrow, I am planning to pick up my new guitar. Many years ago, I sat in a guitar shop and played the two chords that I knew on a guitar that was way beyond my league! I melted when I played it. There has been no other guitar like it. Tomorrow, I am going to play a guitar that is from the same line as that one from many years ago. I now know more than two chords, and I feel similarly to my sweet young lady... I am beside myself excited to touch it. I look forward to the sweet sounds of worship it will bring to my world.
