I have been out of town for 36ish hours. A quick trip to Spokane and back with four counselors/school psych. personnel for a VERY good training on relational aggression. wowzers... is it ever a big topic.
Jason has been "on duty"... not his favorite. :-) He has been a trooper, going from having me as a full time mommy, ready to serve at a drop of a hat.... to full time parent running kids from home to daycare... picking them up at school/daycare... running to after school activities... dinner... bath.... reading. He is one tired dude!
I arrived home tonight to a sweet gift of love... Hannah covered my eyes and led me through the house to where she had put up a "Welcome Home Mommy" poster, in which her whole class signed it... with hearts and the whole bit. :-) I think they will be getting a visit from the school counselor tomorrow... a great act of caring (our current life skill of the month!)
I am feeling chatty... as I am STILL waiting for Zeke to go to sleep. Update on the Christmas Scene... Decorating...we are 1/2 decorated and in desperate need of a housecleaning! The Christmas Shopping is coming close to the end. I did a fun run to Kohl's midnight sale last Friday with a friend.... we left at around 7:30p and shopped for a few hours. I bought a lot of the loose ideas then, and picked up another gift while in Spokane last night. Just a few to go. The Christmas Letter was once written... and then lost into cyberspace... gotta love that! I probably should be working on that right now. :-)
Classes are coming to a close very soon... this weekend will likely be wild trying to finish up all the last minute writing that is necessary. So much for Christmas stuff. This is the hardest part of being in college... I feel like I miss the "frosting on top," but that is a piece of The Proleptic Life- what I do today is because of my vision for tomorrow. Only 7 more classes to go!
Here are a few more pictures from our Thanksgiving Winter Trek...
You can see Jason off in the distance... on the tree hunt.
This was our last couple of hours near the cabins... the kids decided it was warmer inside... they piled in and watched Elf, the movie. Which by the way... I watched last night for the first time in Spokane..... HILARIOUS! I laughed so hard my lungs hurt.
Judah... he had such a good time with the snow... I have another shot of him laying on the ground just staring into the sky... it was so clear and the trees were so tall with flocking. Fun for boys!
This is Cara and I hiking out of the woods after being back in an open area... we had been building snow animals with the kids, and the kids had been playing school together on a big pile of wood... it was so sweet.
Zeke insisted on not wearing gloves so ever once in a while he would climb onto our laps to warm up... right about his time, he also became entranced with the tall trees... and was sitting/laying on my lap staring to the sky.
Right before we left the mountain we figured we better get a group shot... but Judah is missing because he had left with his grandparents to go set up their Christmas Village.
Last, but certainly not least... Hannah, who loves the camera.
Zeke is still up... but I am going to bed... hope he settles in soon.
Blessings everyone... I give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling...
