Portland Trip

Yesterday we made a day trip to Portland as a family. We stopped by and saw A., a student from our school who is battling leukemia, at Doernbechers Children's Hospital. It was great to visit with his mom and see that he is one tough cookie! For the local people who read this... please watch for ways to participate in fund raising for this family (as well as another at a school across town). Tough times...

After our visit to OHSU we headed to OMSI. So much fun! It was very very wet, but we braved the weather and toured the Submarine....
This picture (above) is as we enter the submarine, it was incredibly cramped. Jason could barely walk through the sub because his shoulders were too big (of course, he enjoyed that!) :-)
This was after the tour... we are so glad at this point to breath fresh air and have some personal space!
Judah and Hannah up in a bunk.
Judah (above), Zeke and Hannah (below) in the control room. The lights were just like that in the room. They say it is so that the Sailors would be able to adjust to the night quickly if they needed to get out. (something like that) All three kids were allowed to actually pull switches and "make the sub submerge" (all pretend with sound effects of course)
It was a quick visit... but not quick enough, as we drove home in and out of snow all the way to our garage!
Today we took down our Christmas Trees and cleaned kids bedrooms (again!). We enjoyed our evening tonight with a family game night. All continues to be VERY good at the J's house. Blessings!

That looks like a really fun trip! We go to Portland all the time and still haven't taken the kids to OMSI. Let me know how I can help with the fundraising for A. I want to help in whatever way I can!
