Honest Weblog

My dear friend, Lindsay, has been a part of my life for nearly 15 years now... and she has seen me in various phases of life, as well as seeing the good, the bad... and the ugly. She is a precious person! Our lives are both incredibly full, but we connect several times a week via digital connections from across town. Many evenings, she is the one I download with via IM. One of my favorite things about Linds is her ability to communicate through the written word. She's real, and she presses through loving Jesus when it all stinks!

Well, apparently we like the 'real' part about one another. Today she awarded me with this lovely gift of being brutally honest!


So... ten brutally honest things about me:

1. I love Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy- while eating peanut butter balls- it's my escape from reality- until my pants don't fit quite right!
2. I seriously struggle with exercise and it is a thorn in my flesh- might need to be the next skeleton in my closet to tackle after this stinkin degree is finished.
3. I care too much what other people think about me!
4. I am really sick of talking about how sick and tired I am.
5. I miss laughing more than I do these days.
6. I have changed so so so much in the last 3 years, I wonder what it will be like when I re-engage in things that I have been 'out of' for this season.
7. I am grieved sometimes about how little energy I have for my children.
8. I LOVE my college classes (just not the pace of my life!), and I will miss the camaraderie next year. The cohort of strangers has really bonded... and next year we won't see one another any more. I am experiencing a little anticipatory grief.
9. I used to be a crappy friend.
10. I think I am getting better at it. I have some fabulous friends these days- at work, college, church, and friends from my blogging life. So blessed!

1. Wink- a special friend who just has a knack at being authentic in all things! Shannon is one of those friends that stands the test of time, she in raw, funny, sensitive, creative, and a great real life friend. She is doing an incredible job 'doing it all' and being real along the way!

2. A Look Inside- a friend who has developed in the blog world- would love to meet someday. I value Liz's ability to be real through the tough times life brings. She's an incredible lover of Jesus, madly in love wife, super-mom, career woman, and squeezes in blogging when she can. I can so relate! :)
