Perspective...

Tomorrow we begin the third week of school and the fourth week of my college semester.

A year ago I could hardly breath at this point. I was so uptight and full of the "fear-of-failure." This year has been easier. I think I am more comfortable with myself, and my expectations are lower this year; I have arrived at the knowing that I am not going to please everyone in life.

My list of things to do is probably longer right now than a year ago today, but I have begun to give myself some slack. Currently... there are dirty dishes in the sink, laundry yet to finish, ironing to do, and homework not yet complete... BUT, there is homemade banana bread ready for breakfast, and homemade cookies ready for lunches this week. Lift ain't all that bad. Perspective is a great thing...

Today my day got all messed up. I had plans with a friend to go to the Parade of Homes, and Hannah got sick. I ended up postponing the day trip and spent the day at home. It really was nice in it's own way. I dozed with the kids a little, cooked, and spent some time being still (which is not a strength of mine). I feel at peace with where I am. What a blessing! In that peace, I feel my spirit yearning for more of God. I am so in need of Him. One of my favorite worship leaders and songwriters today is Shari Carr. She writes many of my favorite songs and one of my favorites is So In Need (you can listen to it by clicking the link on her name). It can be found on the Vineyard Music Dwell CD... it is phenomenal! I love her heart. A couple of summers ago she was here in H. at our church, and I spent an afternoon with her as the band set up for a worship concert. She was awesome. If only we lived closer... Anyhow... not sure how I digressed to this. I better get to bed.

hm...homemade goodness. I am a home mom and that rarely happens. Pretty sure my husband wishes it did more.

Love the Dwell cd.
