June 2006

NOTE... the pictures are all backwards... the "story" is at the bottom... I am going to figure this out one of these days! :-)

Since July has just been boring ol' house stuff... I thought I would review June. June was very busy and exciting. The summer started off with a big bang... Hannah fell off the top of the slide and broke her arm. It was HORRIBLE. As I picked her up off the ground... her arm hung limp in a place that was NOT right. It made my mother's heart feel sick. We spent the evening in the emergency room and the next day all day in day surgery. They reset her arm (under full sedation) and she was happy with her pink cast. This picture was taken one day later.

The next big event was my college graduation... FINALLY... I was on the 11 year plan! :-) It was a great time. All my immediate family came... and even some extended family. BJ and Crystal and family joined us for the party in La Grande... it was a good time of celebrating a lot of time and energy.

Right after Graduation we took the kids on a road trip to the coast, Oregon Aquarium, and Lincoln City Outlets. The stress level had been so crazy high... we needed to unwind. We seemed to forget that when you have 3 preschool aged children vacation is NOT relaxing. Oh well... the kids had a blast.

When we returned from the coast it was time for Hannah's 4th birthday... but we were WIPED out! I couldn't get myself to pull together a "party" so we invited our friends The Smiths and the Wilsons to join us for dinner and a "party". Hannah is obsessed with Dora the Explorer right now... we had a Dora party even with BJ pulling together a full on Dora search for the hidden treasure (candy)... they went down the golden slide... through the chocolate gate... and to the white sparkling door where they would discover the clue. BJ nearly broke into song. :-) The kids loved it... and Hannah felt special.

The next week we made a day trip to the Zoo and the Outlet Mall (of course). Judah took so many AWESOME pictures of the butterflies... he is going to enter one in the county fair... so I will post it... no one is going to believe that a 5 year old took it.

Last... we visited our favorite summer location... Wallowa Lake. It was so fun. Judah caught a very very green frog who lived with us for about a week. :-)
